Abstract:

This study is aimed at studying the attitudes of high school students in the province of Elazığ regarding physical education and sports courses. The universe of research; 2019-2020 educational year forms high school students located in the province of Elazığ. The sample of the study consists of 100 students selected by random method from students studying in the straight high school and professional high school in the 2019-2020 educational year. In the research, the survey technique was chosen from quantum research methods as the method of data collection. The study used the "Body Education and Sports Attitude Scale (BEST)" developed by Demirhan and Altay (2001). For the analysis of the data obtained in the study, the SPSS 22 package program was used and the % Frequency, Independent Samples T Test, One Way Anova Tests were applied. The level of significance is estimated as P<0,05. The findings obtained in the study; in the study of the physical education and attitudes of the students to the sport, statistically no significance was identified according to gender, class, sports resume and high school type (P>0,05). This study has shown that body training and attitudes towards sport are above the normal. As a result, high school students’ attitudes towards physical education and sports lessons have been distributed above normal values and high school students’ attitudes towards physical education and sports have not been meaningful.
