Mustafa Kemal Atatürk öncülüğünde gerçekleştirilen Türk Devrimi’nin siyasal yapılanma sürecinde dönüm noktası, Cumhuriyetin ilân edilmesi olmuştur. Cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarından itibaren yeni ve modern bir devlet yaratmak, ulusal kimliğin inşası noktasında eğitime büyük önem verilmiş; başta eğitim kurumu olmak üzere tarih dersleri, bu derslere ilişkin kitaplar ve bu kitaplarda işlenecek konular, siyasal iktidarların meşruluğu açısından önem kazanmıştır. Cumhuriyet dönemi boyunca, okulların her kademesinde, tarih dersleri için müfredat programları ve bu programlar doğrultusunda ders kitapları hazırlanmıştır.
Bu çalışmada, yeni Türk Devletinin siyasal sistemi olan “Cumhuriyetin ilanı” konusu, Cumhuriyet döneminde liseler için hazırlanan tarih ders kitaplarında işlenişi boyutuyla incelenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında Türk Tarih Tezine göre liseler için hazırlanan ders kitaplarının 1934 yılında basılan ve Cumhuriyet dönemine ait IV. Cildi başlangıç olarak alınmış; 1958, 1973, 1976, 1981 ve 2000 yıllarında liseler için hazırlanan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Tarihi ders kitaplarında Cumhuriyet konusuna ilişkin veriler toplanmıştır. Bu veriler, nitel araştırma yöntemi olan doküman analiziyle değerlendirilmiştir.
Bu çalışma, Cumhuriyet dönemi ders kitaplarında “Cumhuriyetin ilanı” konusunun işlenişinin genel hatlarıyla ortaya konulması suretiyle, tarih konularının öğretiminde karşılaşılan öğretimsel ve metodik sorunların tespitine katkı sağlayacaktır. Bununla birlikte siyasal iktidarlar çerçevesinde, eğitim-siyaset ilişkisinde izlenen değişim ve yaklaşımlar da ortaya konulmuş olacaktır.

In this study, the topic of the "Declaration of the Republic", the political system of the new Turkish state, was studied by the size of the processing in the history curricula prepared for high schools during the Republic period. In the context of the study, according to the Turkish History Thesis, the teaching books prepared for high schools were published in 1934 and belonged to the Republic Period IV. The image was taken as the beginning; the data on the subject of the Republic were collected in the Turkish Republic History curricula prepared for high schools in 1958, 1973, 1976, 1981 and 2000. These data have been evaluated by document analysis, which is the quality research method.
This study will contribute to the identification of the teaching and methodological problems encountered in the teaching of the subjects of history by presenting the general lines of the processing of the subject of the "Declaration of the Republic" in the Republic period curricula. However, in the framework of political powers, the changes and approaches followed in the education-political relationship will also be revealed.
The turning point in the political structuring process of the Turkish Revolution, led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was the proclamation of the Republic. Since the first years of the Republic, great importance has been attached to education in terms of creating a new and modern state and building national identity; History lessons, the books related to these lessons and the subjects to be covered in these books have gained importance in terms of the legitimacy of political powers. During the Republican period, curriculum programs for history lessons and textbooks were prepared in line with these programs at all levels of schools.
In this study the subject of "Proclamation of the Republic", which is the political system of the new Turkish State, was examined in terms of its handling in the history textbooks prepared for high schools. Within the scope of the study, the textbooks prepared for high schools were published in 1934 and belong to the IV which prepared according to the Turkish History Thesis, the skin was taken as the beginning. In the History textbooks prepared for high schools in 1958, 1973, 1976, 1981 and 2000 data on the subject of the Republic were collected. These data,were evaluated by document analysis, which is a qualitative research method.
The study will contribute to the determination of the instructional and methodical problems encountered in the teaching of history subjects by revealing the handling of the subject of "proclamation of the Republic" in the textbooks in general terms. In addition within the framework of political power, the changes and approaches in the education-politics relationship will also be revealed.
