Abstract:

This study aimed at achieving research to study the effectiveness of different methods and practices in social skills teaching to individuals with high-function autism (YO) and Asperger syndrome (AS) diagnosis and the demographic characteristics, methodological characteristics and results of these studies. For this purpose, scans were conducted in the Academic Search Complete, Article First, EBSCOhost, JSTOR, PsycINFO, Sciencedirect, Worldcat.org and Web of Science databases to determine the research published by April 2020. The 120 results of the survey were evaluated according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this assessment, 30 studies have been included. Analysis studies have found that they worked with a limited age group, that the information provided to participants is insufficient, that they are often focused on appropriate interactive skills, and that the practices are mostly based on the teaching of behavioral skills. The findings of the research indicate that advanced research should be designed in a high-quality manner taking into account the quality indicators and a meta-analysis research should be carried out in order to determine the practices that are scientific-resistant in the teaching of social skills for individuals with AI and AS diagnosis.
