ABSTRACT Aim: Throughout history, various diseases have emerged as a result of the relationships that people have established with each other and their natural environment. One of them is the Covid-19 outbreak, which occurred on December 31, 2019 in Wuhan, China. Covid-19 has killed many people. Social media platforms have played an active role in transferring information about such important health events. Twitter was one of the platforms that increased its popularity during the Pandemic era. Health-related information and news have become an important media shared. This research is a qualitative study conducted between January 2020 and May 2020 to examine how corona virus news is transmitted on twitter. Method: In this study, the twitter accounts of 5 health news sites were examined. All relevant tweets of health news sites were evaluated between January 2020 and May 2020. In the examination of corona virus news within the scope of the study, a document examination was carried out from qualitative research methods and content analysis technique was used. Result: A total of 3413 tweets were detected between January 2020 and May 2020. 72.66% of the tweets are reporting on the corona virus. According to the main topic, the most agenda/magazine news, followed by prevention/prevention, diagnosis, treatment, vaccine/drug development and normalization process respectively, was found to contain the relevant news. The way you share tweets is followed by the video with the article, with the most visual elements. While the news headlines were mostly set up in plain sentences, question sentences were not preferred. Conclusion: The important aspect of the study was that the tweets transferred to the corona virus were mostly conveyed in a tabloid content/style. During pandemic period, it was noted that such an important and serious disease was shared with tabloid content.
