Yaşadığı dönemin, coğrafyanın sosyal ve kültürel dünyasından etkilenen ve bunları eserlerine aktaran romancıların eserlerinde halkın yaşamından, gelenek ve göreneklerinden birçok unsur bulmak mümkündür. Aslında halkın genel hayatını kapsayan ve onları oluşturan ortak davranış kalıplarının belirlediği kültürel etkileri ele alan halk edebiyatının romandaki oluşumu, romanın gerçek hayattan etkilenip yazarın kurgulamasıyla yeni bir boyuta taşınmasında gizlidir. Roman, bu yönüyle yazıldığı dönemin olaylarına, yazarın o dönemdeki olaylar karşısındaki tavrına, yaşadığı toplumun davranış ve inanç kurallarının romancıların yazdıkları eserlerdeki temsiline göre şekillenmektedir. Roman kendine has kuralları olmasına rağmen, toplumdan bağımsız olarak düşünülemez. Bu açıdan bakıldığında, Filistin’in önde gelen çağdaş yazarları arasında kabul edilen İbrahim Nasrallah, romanlarında Filistin halkını gerçekçi bir şekilde anlatmaya çalışmaktadır. Bunu yaparken halk kültürüne, halkın inançlarına adet, gelenek ve göreneklerine romanlarında sıkça başvurur. Bu çalışmada, yazarın Tuyûru’l-Hazer adlı romanındaki kişiler üzerinden aktardığı halk kültürü unsurlarına, halk inançları ve batıl inançlar üzerinde durulmaya çalışılacaktır.
It is possible to find many elements from the life, traditions and habits of the people in the works of the novelists who are influenced by the social and cultural world of the geography and who are transferring them to their works. In fact, the formation of popular literature in the novel, which deals with the cultural effects determined by the common patterns of behavior that cover the general life of the people and form them, is hidden in the fact that the novel is influenced by the real life and moved to a new dimension by the author’s establishment. The novel is formed according to the events of the time in which it was written, the writer’s attitude towards the events of that time, the representation of the rules of behavior and belief of the society in which he lived in the works of the novelists. Although the novel has its own rules, it cannot be thought independently of society. From this point of view, Ibrahim Nasrallah, considered among the leading contemporary writers of Palestine, is trying to realise the Palestinian people in his novels. While doing this, he frequently applies to the people’s culture, to the people’s beliefs, to the traditions and customs in his novels. In this study, the writer will try to focus on the elements of popular culture that the writer translates through the persons in his novel Tuyûru'l-Hazer, on the popular beliefs and the false beliefs.

In fact, the formation of folk literature in the novel, which covers the general life of the people and deals with the cultural effects determined by the common behavior patterns that make them up, is hidden in the fact that the novel is influenced by real life and moved to a new dimension with the fiction of the author. In this respect, the novel is shaped according to the events of the period in which it was written, the author's attitude towards the events of that period, and the representation of the behavior and belief rules of the society in which he lived in the works written by the novelists. Although the novel has its own rules, it cannot be considered independently of society. From this point of view, Ibrahim Nasrallah, who is considered one of the leading contemporary writers of Palestine, tries to describe the Palestinian people realistically in his novels. While doing this, he frequently refers to the folk culture, beliefs and customs of the people in his novels. In this study, it will be tried to focus on folk culture elements, folk beliefs and superstitions that the author conveyed through the people in his novel Tuyûru'l-Hazer.
