So many results that aren't mine?
References in many bibliographies are sometimes referred to as "Surname, I", so the citations of academics whose Surname and initials are the same may occasionally interfere. This problem is often the case with citation indexes all over the world.

İmalat Sanayinde İhracata Dayalı Büyüme Hipotezinin Geçerliliğinin Test Edilmesi: Türkiye Örneği
2019

Abstract:

Testing the validity of export-based growth hypothesis in the manufacturing industry: example of Turkey
2019
Author:
Abstract:

This study analyses the validity of the export-based growth hypothesis for the manufacturing industry in Turkey. The export-based growth hypothesis suggests that the expansion of export volume will contribute positively to economic growth through various channels. When studies on the export-based growth hypothesis are studied in the growth literature in this direction, it usually provides findings on the basis of total exports. The number of works in the sector is relatively less. The main objective of work with the move from this point is to analyze the causality between manufacturing industry exports and industrial production index in Turkey in the period 1996-2018. In this direction, the Johansen equalization test, the Granger causality test and the Toda-Yamamoto causality test used to investigate the link between the manufacturing industry export and the industrial production index in Turkey. The results of the analysis show that in the standard Granger technique the causality direction is right from industrial production to export, while the Toda-Yamamoto technique shows that there is no causality connection between the two variables. The findings show that the export-based growth hypothesis is not valid in the manufacturing industry both in the short and long term. In addition, the policy outcomes were also discussed in light of the empirical results obtained from the study.

Testing The Validity Of The Export-led Growth Hypothesis In Manufacturing Industry: The Case Of Turkey
2019
Author:
Abstract:

In this study, the validity of export-led growth hypothesis is analyzed for Turkish manufacturing industry.  Export-led growth hypothesis asserts that expansions in the export volume positively contribute to economic growth. Accordingly, studies on export-led growth hypothesis in the growth literature have frequently presented evidences at the aggregate level.  The number of the studies at the disaggregate level are relatively limited. Inspired from this point, the aim of this study is to examine the causality between manufacturing exports and industrial production in Turkey over the period 1996-2018. To this end, Johansen cointegration, Granger causality and Toda-Yamamoto causality tests are used to investigate the linkage between manufacturing industry exports and industrial production index in Turkey. Standard Granger causality test indicate causality running from industrial production to exports whereas no causality is detected given the results of Toda-Yamamoto approach. Findings obtained from empirical analyses indicate that export-led growth is not valid in the manufacturing industry either in the short- or in the long-run. Moreover; policy implications based on empirical findings are also discussed.
