The state, as we know it undertakes to take care and be responsible for its citizens. Ever since the second world war the notion of the state as guardian and protector is accepted as a basic responsibility of governing. The social security system is one such that a modern state takes care of its citizens. Laws are passed to determine how each country's social security works and who it protects. In Turkey, this issue was determined by laws too. In the following evaluation, I examine the effect that the compulsory military service in Turkey has on the social security system what problems are caused by this coverage and how these problems be solved.
