In this study, laser welding was applied to ST 6222 and DP600 sheets used in the automotive industry and the effects of different welding parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated. The effect of laser welding made on the basis of basic parameters on the welding seam, welding cross section and hardness of the materials was investigated. In this study, after welding 25x150 mm sized parts with a thickness of 2.0 mm, microhardness values were measured by 50 g load and three different points from the main metal, heat affected zone (HAZ) and melting regions over the welding section. When the results are examined, it has been found that the welding feed rate is increased, irregularities in the hardness distribution of the joint and a decrease in both the weld seam width and the weld penetration. However, with the increase of laser power, an increase in weld strength, width of the weld seam and weld penetration has been observed.
