Bu çalışmanın amacı, ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin cebirsel ifadeler konusunda yaptıkları hataları incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmanın örneklemini; 2013-2014 öğretim yılında Trabzon il merkezindeki ortaokullarda öğrenim görmekte olan 150,7. Sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada öğrencilerin cebir konusunda hatalarını tespit edebilmek için cebir bilgi testi uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmadan elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerden, öğrencilerin cebirsel ifadeler konusundaki bilgilerinin istenilen düzeyde olmadığı ve uygulanan cebir bilgi testinde birçok hata yapıldığı görülmüştür. Yapılan bu hatalardan bazıları, öğrencinin değişkeni görmezden gelmesi, verilen cebirsel ifadeyi denkleme dönüştürerek çözmesi, soruda verilen değişken yerine x değişkenini kullanması ve verilen probleme uygun denklemi yanlış kurmasıdır.
The aim of this study is to investigate the mistakes that high school students make in the field of cybersecurity. The examples of the study in accordance with this objective; in the 2013-2014 academic year, 150,7 students are studying in the high school in the centre of the province of Trabzon. The class student is formed. In this study, the method of work was used. The study has been conducted to identify the errors of the students in the field of gaps. The data obtained from this study was analyzed through the content analysis method. The data obtained from the study found that the students’ information on the expressions of gabbage was not at the desired level and that many errors were made in the gabbage information test. Some of these mistakes are the fact that the student ignores the variable, resolves the given jiberal expression by converting it into an equation, uses the variable x instead of the given variable in the question, and errors the appropriate equation of the given problem.
The aim of this study is to investigate the mistakes made by secondary school 7th-grade students in relation to algebraic expressions. In accordance with this aim, the sample of the study consists of 150 7th-grade students studying at secondary schools in Trabzon city centre in the 2013-2014 academic year. In this study, the case study method was used. In the study, a knowledge test was applied in order to determine the mistakes made by the students in the subject of algebra. The data obtained from in this study were analysed using the content analysis method. From the data obtained from the study, it was observed that the students’ knowledge of algebraic expressions was not at the desired level, and many mistakes were made in the algebra knowledge test applied. Some of these mistakes made are the student’s ignoring the variable, solving the given algebraic expression by transforming it into an equation, using the x variable instead of the variable given in the question, and establishing the equation for the given problem incorrectly
