Eski Türklerden günümüze kadar kurt hep önemli ve kendisine hamilik, kutsallık, şifa verici, murat/dilek gerçekleştirici, uğur ve bereket getirici vb. gibi işlevleri yüklenen canlı bir kült/motif ve varlık olarak yerini korumuştur. Türk dünyasının muhtelif coğrafyalarında yaşayan Türkler arasında kurda atfedilen inanç ögelerinin büyük oranda benzer olması, bu varlığın Türk düşünce ve inanç sisteminde ne kadar köklü bir yer tuttuğunun somut göstergesidir. Kurttan türediğini düşünen, inanan ve bu düşünceyi muhtelif asırlarda kurduğu çeşitli devletler döneminde farklı anlatı şekilleri ile sürdüren ve benimseyen Türkler, günümüzde de bu hayvanın varlığını çeşitli vesilelerle yaşattıklarını farklı çalışmalardan elde edilen verilerle de ortaya konulmuştur. Irak Türkmenleri, Osmanlı Devleti’nin yıkılışından sonra Türkiye ve Türk dünyası ile bağları kesilmiş olmasına rağmen atalarından tevarüs ettikleri köklü ve tarihin derinliklerinden koparak kendilerine kadar ulaşan kültürlerini, düşünce sistemlerini, yargı değerlerini, örf adetlerini, millî kimliklerini ve millî kimliğin kapsadığı bütün unsurları muhafaza etmeyi başaran bir Türk topluluğudur. Nitekim Irak Türkmenleri, Irak’taki coğrafi konuları itibarıyla farklı millet ve etnik grupları ile bir arada yaşamaya mahkûm edilmişlerdir. Ancak bu beraber yaşamayı, sosyal ve kültürel olarak onları zayıflatmamıştır. Aksine Türkmenler atalarından tevarüs ettirttikleri köklü ve zengin kültür mirasları ile beraber yaşadıkları millet ve etnik grupları büyük çapta etkilediği söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada Irak Türkmenlerinin yaşadıkları yerleşim birimlerinden biri olan Diyale iline bağlı Hanekin ilçesi Türkmenlerinin folklorunda kurt olgusu üzerine durulmuştur. Kurtla ilgili farklı sözlü kaynaklardan yapılan derlemeler sonucunda elde edilen 61 atasözü, 3 çocuk oyunu ve 63 halk inancı tespit edilmiştir. Bunlar ayrı başlıklar altında ele alınmış, tasnif edilmiştir. Sözlü kaynaklardan derlenen atasözleri Hanekin ilçesi Türkmen ağız özelliği muhafaza edilerek yazıya geçirilmiş ve her atasözünün yanında Türkiye Türkçesi verilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda elde edilen verilerden yola çıkarak bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
From the ancient Turks to today, the wolf is always important and it is pregnant, holiness, healing, fulfilling the desire, bringing happiness and blessing, etc. It preserved its place as a living cult/motive charged with functions. The fact that among the Turkish people living in the diverse geographics of the Turkish world, the objects of beliefs attributed to the Kurda are largely similar, is a concrete indication of how root this existence holds a place in the Turkish thought and belief system. The Turkish people who thought they were derived from the kurt, who believed and who continued and adopted the different narrative forms in the period of the various states in which they established this thought in various centuries, are also presented with the data obtained from different studies that they have lived the existence of this animal in various occasions today. The Irakian Turkmenists are a Turkish community that, despite the collapse of the Ottoman State, the relations with Turkey and the Turkish world have been cut off, the roots and the depths of history which they have found from their ancestors and which have succeeded in preserving their cultures, thought systems, judgment values, arms, national identities and all the elements that the national identity covers. Indeed, Iraqi Turkmenists are sentenced to live together with different nations and ethnic groups on the basis of their geographical issues in Iraq. But this has not weakened them to live together, socially and culturally. On the contrary, it can be said that the Turkmen people have greatly affected the nation and ethnic groups they live together with the rich and rooted cultural heritage of their ancestors. This study focused on the wolf in the folklore of the Turkmen people of the Hanekin district, one of the settlements in which the Iraqi Turkmen people live. According to the researchers, 61 speeches, 3 children's games and 63 public beliefs were found. These are handled under separate titles, classified. Speechs collected from verbal sources have been written by preserving the Turkmen mouth characteristics of Hanekin district and each speech has been given Turkish. It is based on the results of the study.
A wolf is a living being that has been able to maintain its existence among Turks from ancient times to the present day. It has been entrusted with roles such as protection, treatment, the fulfillment of wishes and demands, and brings blessing and happiness. Whereas the Turks who live in different regions gave the same importance and belief into it, and at the same level, show us the extent of his great and important place in their intellectual system and beliefs. As the Turks believe and think that they have been originated from the wolf and have preserved this belief over many ages and different countries have established and narrated a different story about the wolves, they still maintain its existence in different fields according to what was reached in different studies. Iraqi Turkmen separated from the Turkish culture physically during the fall of the Ottoman Empire, but the Turkmen are one of the Turkish societies that have been able to preserve their culture, intellectual system, values, customs, traditions, national identity and all that carries the national identity elements that they inherited from their ancestors; as the geography in Iraq ruled over the Turkmen living with different nationalities and societies. Living together with these nationalities and societies has not socially and culturally weakened them. In contrast, having a rich and rooted culture enabled them to influence these nationalities and societies. In this study, the topic of the wolf is addressed in the folklore of Turkmen in Khanaqin, Diyala Governorate. Sixty-one proverbs, three children’s games, and sixty-three beliefs are collected from oral sources and were grouped and dealt with separately. The texts of the proverbs that we have collected are written down by preserving the accent of Khanaqin’s Turkmen. On the side of each text, the proverb is written in the modern Turkish language as well. In conclusion, the results that we have reached are evaluated based on the material covered and studied.
