Abstract:

Bosnia and Herzegovina is one of the main tourist destinations in the Balkans, where the income from the tourism sector has become an important source in the country’s economy on a daily basis. Therefore, the country attracts a large number of tourists from Turkey, as well as many European countries, as well as its historical and cultural connections, with this study aimed at examining the tour programmes in which Bosnia and Herzegovina is involved from Turkey to the Balkan Peninsula. In the first part of the study, a general assessment of Bosnia and Herzegovina tourism was made using statistical data on the subject. In the second part of the study, the content of the package tours organized from Turkey to the Balkan Peninsula was studied and analyzed by travel agencies. Thus, the aim is to study the details of organized tours as a tourist product and to present alternative recommendations for the content of existing tours programs to be developed. In the framework of the research, the contents of the 133 package tour program held from Turkey to the Balkan Peninsula have been studied using the internet environment and the programmes concerned have been determined priorities in the preference of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Turkish tourists, taking into account the nighttime, the transport vehicle used, the tour route, the visa status and the tour fee elements. Additionally, the shortcomings of the tour to this destination are also addressed from different points of view and solutions for the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina tourism are also presented.
