Tireless search for the “perfect body†generates body dissatisfaction and the mistaken association of thinness with health and success, a thought that is often present in the genesis of eating disorders (ED). To identify in the scientific literature the association between diet practice and ATs. Systematic review of the scientific literature with research in Scielo, Pubmed and Science Direct databases. The search period for articles for review was from May to September 2019, considering publications from the last 10 years. An important prevalence of high score of the questionnaires was observed: Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26), Edinburgh Bulimic Investigation Test (BITE), Sociocultural Attitudes to Appearance Questionnaire-3 (SATAQ-3), Risky Eating Behavior Questionnaire (BQREB), and Orthorexia Nervous Identification Questionnaire (ORTO-15) in those who were dieting, with or without follow-up, especially in young women. Dieting is associated with the development of EDs.
