Arapçanın dil bilgisi kurallarını ihtiva eden eserlerden ikisi Ebu’l-Kâsım Abdurrahman b. İshâk ez-Zeccâcî’nin (ö. 339/951) Kitâbu’l-Cumeli fi’n-Nahv ve Ebu’l-Kâsım Abdurrahman b. Abdillah b. Ahmed el-Has‘amî es-Süheylî’nin (ö. 581/1185) Netâicu’l-Fikeri fi’n-Nahv isimli eserleridir. Bu iki eser de ağırlıklı nahiv olmak üzere, hem nahiv hem de sarf konularını ihtiva etmektedir. Netâicu’l-Fikeri fi’n-Nahv isimli eserlerin mukaddimesinde yazar eserinin, ez-Zeccâcî’nin Kitâbu’l-Cumeli fi’n-Nahv’in bir şerhi olduğunu iddia etmektedir. Bu çalışmanın konusu ve amacı bu iddianın doğru olmadığının ortaya konulmasıdır. Çalışmada öncelikle müellifler ve bütün eserleri hakkında bilgiler verilmiş, ardından çalışmada ele alınan iki eser detaylı bir şekilde tanıtılmıştır. Her iki eser yöntem, muhteva ve üslup yönünden karşılaştırılmıştır. İki eserde ele alınan her bir konunun eserlerde anlatımı ayrı ayrı verilmiştir. Bu karşılaştırma neticesinde ikinci eserin yazarın iddia ettiği gibi birinci eserin şerhi niteliğinde olmadığı, özgün bir eser olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
