Alpamış Destanı, Türk dünyasında en fazla yaygınlık gösteren destanlardan biridir. Bir nevi Türklerin ortak destanı olan Alpamış Destanı, içerisinde Türk kültürüne ait birçok özelliği barındırması açısından da oldukça önemli bir yere sahiptir. Alpamış Destanının taşıdığı özelliklerden biri de milletlerin inanç sistemlerini, gelenek ve göreneklerini, bulunduğu coğrafi konumu, değer yargılarını vb. sayılar vasıtasıyla sembolleştirerek anlatmasıdır. Destanda sayılar daha çok dini semboller içermekte ve eski Türk inançlarından İslam dinine bu sayıların yansıması görülmektedir. Fazıl Yoldaşoğlu’ndan hareketle incelenen destanda bazı sayıların daha az kullanılmasına karşılık bazı sayıların Türk-İslam kültüründeki önemi aşikârdır. Mitoloji ve dinle ilişkisi bulunan sayılar her dönem gizemli olarak kabul edilmiştir. Sayıların derin anlamlarına inildiğinde yeni durumlarla karşılaşılması sayılara verilen önemi daha da artırmıştır. Halk edebiyatı türlerinden önemli bir yere sahip olan destanlarda tıpkı diğer motifler gibi sayılar da yoğun bir biçimde yerini almıştır. Alpamış Destanında da üç, yedi, dokuz ve kırk gibi sayıların destanın geneline hâkim olduğu görülmektedir. Aynı zamanda bu sayılar Türk-İslam kültür ve medeniyetinde oldukça önemli bir yer teşkil etmektedir. Bu çalışmada Alpamış Destanında nadir olarak ya da sıklıkla karşımıza çıkan sayılara yer verilmiş olup bu sayıların genel anlamları üzerinde durulmuş ve değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır.
The Alpamış Destany is one of the most common stories in the Turkish world. The Alpamış Destany, a common cast of the Turks, has a very important place in terms of hosting many features of the Turkish culture. One of the characteristics of the Alpamış Destana is the religious systems, traditions and habits of the peoples, the geographical location in which they are located, the judgments of values, etc. It is symbolized through numbers. The numbers contain more religious symbols, and these numbers are reflected from ancient Turkish beliefs to Islamic religion. The importance of some numbers in the Turkish-Islamic culture is clear in contrast to the use of some numbers less in the story studied by Fazıl Yoldaşoğlu. The numbers that have a relationship with mythology and religion have been regarded as mysterious in every period. When the numbers fall into the deep meaning of the new situations, the importance given to the numbers increased even more. In the stories that have an important place in popular literature, as well as in other motives, the numbers have taken an intense place. Three, seven, nine, and forty are the numbers of the tribe. These numbers also represent a very important place in the Turkish-Islamic culture and civilization. In this study, we have included numbers that are rarely or frequently faced with us and are focused on the general significance of these numbers and are evaluated.
The Alpamysh Epic is one of the most widespread epics in the Turkish world. The Alpamysh Epic, which is sort of a common epic of Turks, occupies a very important place since it contains many characteristics of Turkish culture. One of the characteristics of the Alpamysh Epic is the fact that it tells the belief systems of the nations, their customs and traditions, their geographical location and their value judgments etc. by symbolization through numbers. In the epic, the numbers mostly contain religious symbols and the reflection of these numbers is seen on the old Turkish belief Islam. In the epic reviewed according to Fazil Yoldasoglu, while some of the numbers are used less than the others, the use of some numbers in the Turkish-Islamic culture is obvious. The numbers, which are related to mythology and religion, have been considered mysterious in all periods. The fact that new situations are encountered when expanding on the meanings of the numbers increased the importance given to the numbers even more. The epics, which have an important place among the folk literature genres, included numbers intensively just like other motifs. In Alpamysh Epic, it is seen that the numbers such as three, seven, nine and forty are dominant throughout the epic. At the same time, these numbers occupy a very important position in Turkish-Islamic culture and civilization. In this study, the numbers, which are rarely or frequently encountered in Alpamysh Epic, are presented and the general meanings of these numbers are emphasized and evaluated.
