Abstract:

One of the keywords of our age is speed. With the advanced technology, it plays an important role to establish the correct communication for individuals who are exposed to countless visuals and to capture a rapid differentiation in the transmission of information to individuals. At the point of transmission of the requested message and understanding by the spectator, graphic designers are also activated. The success of a graphic product can also be measured by sending the message to the target audience in the most effective way. It is important to create visual perception and integrity in the design to make the message understandable. The designer creates the visual language of a graphic design product using the design elements and the design principles. The common purpose of all these principles is to assist in the transmission of the requested message. Providing visual solutions to solve communication problems is the primary objective of communication design. The basic design training that will be received by designers who are trained to establish proper communication is of great importance at this point. In order to teach the importance of creating visual perception with the effective use of formal design elements, this article describes the project example of the gradual and practical description of the design elements and principles given within the framework of the Basic Graphic Education course in the Graphic Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Hacettepe University.
