İnceleme alanında kalın bir sedimantasyon ilgi çekicidir. En yaşlı formasyonları, bugüne kadar yapılan etüdlerde yer almıyan, Juradan başlamak üzere, Üst Kretaseye kadar devam eden ve «komprehansif seri» diye adlandırdığımız kalkerler temsil etmektedir. Eosen formasyonları, bir taban konglomerası ile, komprehansif serinin üzerinde diskordan olarak yer alır. Alt Eosenden itibaren, Üst Eosene kadar ayrılabilen Eosen formasyonları üzerine gelen Miosen serileri, bölgede geniş alanlara yayılmıştır. Bu formasyonlar Alpin hareketlerinin çeşitli fazları ile etkilenmişlerdir.
