Abstract:

The study aimed at examining the medical secretaries working in the hospital during the COVID-19 Pandemic period as assistant health staff with a thorough interpretative phenomenological analysis of what they experience in this process and determining the effects of the epidemic period.  The study consists of 10 people who are married and children in the staff of assistant health staff at a private hospital during the pandemic period, who have worked at least 3 years in the hospital as a female medical secretary, age ranges from 28 to 35 years, voluntarily participating in the work. In the hospital, a psychiatrist interview room was held with participants. The data collected from interviews with the participants were analyzed using the interpretative phenomenological analysis (YFA) technique from the quality analysis techniques. According to the results of the analysis, five main topics and twelve sub-themes related to these topics have emerged. The sensation of responsibility that being a mother has brought, the trigger of anxiety of uncertainty, the feeling of being marked and excluded, the conversion of anxiety into anger and the top top topics of accepting the current situation in this process have been determined. The study is believed to contribute significantly to the identification of problems in health workers during the pandemic period and to the taking of measures. The study is hoped that it will contribute to a limited number of quality studies to understand the impact of COVID-19 on women’s health workers, and the results obtained in our studies on health workers in periods of pandemic, etc. health problems and measures to be taken will be vulnerable.
