Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) causes infectious mononucleosis characterized by fever, sore throat, and lymphadenopathy. Although hepatic involvement is usually mild in 80 to 90 % of the cases with infectious mononucleous, cholestatic liver disease characterized predominantly by elevation of serum alkaline phosphatase and bilirübin is rarely seen. Herein, we report a 31-year-old men with cholestatic hepatitis, presenting with elevated liver function tests, alkaline phosphatase, gamma transpeptidase and bilirubin.
