Abstract:

The aim of this research is to develop a scale with proven validity and reliability that can evaluate the Life Science Curriculum according to the CIPP model. The data used in this study were collected from two different study groups. The data obtained from the first study group consisting of 214 classroom teachers were used for EFA, and the data obtained from the second study group consisting of 318 classroom teachers were used for CFA. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 23 program and LISREL 8.7 programs. Within the scope of reliability analysis, item total correlation values and Cronbach's Alpha coefficient were calculated, expert opinions were taken within the scope of validity analyzes and EFA and CFA were performed. The Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of the developed 4-factor and 36-item scale was calculated as 0.969, and it was determined that the factor loads of the items in the scale ranged from 0.523 to 0.848. It was concluded that the four factors in the scale explained 69.356% of the total variance. According to the CFA results, it was determined that the RMSEA index of the scale was at an acceptable level, and the other indices were at the perfect fit level. When the results are evaluated in general, it can be said that this developed scale is a reliable and valid measurement tool.
