Italo Calvino, Amerika Dersleri adıyla kitaplaşan konferanslarından birinde edebiyatın yaşamın ağırlığına karşı hafiflik yaratan bir değer olduğunu söyler. Yaşam karşısında insanın bir varoluş sorunu olarak deneyimlediği ağırlık dilin üzerine yüklenen gerçekliğin ifadesidir. Bu gerçekliğe karşılık insanın içinde hafifliğe ve hafifleşmeye doğru bir eğilim vardır. Edebiyat bu arzuyu mümkün kılan bir olanak sunar. Başka bir deyişle dile yüklenen gerçekliğin yarattığı ağırlığı edebiyatın dile müdahalesiyle hafifleştirmek mümkündür. Ağırlık ve hafiflik duygusunun dilsel imgelere bürünerek kendini gösterdiği edebî metinlerde, sanatçının dünyayı bu imgeler üzerinden nasıl algıladığı ve bu algıda insanın varlık olarak kendisi ve dış dünyayla kurduğu ilişkinin boyutlarını görmek mümkündür. Tevfik Fikret’in şiirlerinde her iki değerin ruhsal açıdan taşıdığı anlamların çeşitli imgeler üzerinden ifade edildiği görülür. Yaşamın gerçekliği karşısında benliğini bu ağırlığa mahkûm eden bedenini ve somut dünyayı hafifleştirme arzusu duyan Tevfik Fikret’in şiirlerinde hafifleşme önemli bir psikolojik gösterge olarak yer almıştır. Bu makalede onun şiirlerindeki hafiflik ve ağrılık imgelerinin taşıdığı anlamlar üzerinde durulacak ve şairin içinde bulunduğu psikolojik durumun bu imgelere nasıl yansıdığı tespit edilecektir.
Italo Calvino says in one of his lectures called American Lessons that literature is a value that creates lightness against the weight of life. The weight that a person experiences as a problem of existence in the face of life is the expression of reality loaded on the language. In contrast to this reality, there is a tendency to lightness and relief within man. Literature provides an opportunity that makes this desire possible. In other words, it is possible to relieve the weight of the reality created by the intervention of literature in the language. In the literary texts in which the sense of weight and lightness manifests itself in linguistic images, it is possible to see how the artist perceives the world through these images and in this perception the dimensions of the relationship that man establishes with himself and the external world as being. In the poems of Tevfik Fikret, it appears that the meanings of both values from a spiritual point of view are expressed through various images. The lightning in the poems of Tevfik Fikret, who has the desire to relieve his body and the physical world, who has condemned himself to this weight in the face of the reality of life, has been a significant psychological indicator. This article will focus on the meanings of the images of lightness and pain in his poems and will identify how the psychological state in which the poet is in will reflect these images.
