Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between psychological help-seeking attitudes of parents with children with special needs and psychological resilience and spousal support. The research sample consists of 223 parents with children with special needs. "Attitude Scale Towards Seeking Psychological Help", "Adult Psychological Resilience Scale", "Spousal Support Scale" and "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools in the research. SPSS 22 program was used for the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the research. Data analysis was performed with independent samples t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Pearson correlation analysis. When the research results are examined; It was concluded that as the attitudes of parents with children with special needs towards seeking psychological help increase, their level of psychological resilience increases, and the level of perceived spousal support decreases. There was no significant difference between the psychological help-seeking attitudes, psychological resilience levels and perceived spousal support level of parents with children with special needs and the diagnosis of the child with special needs. There was no significant difference between the psychological help-seeking attitudes and psychological resilience levels of parents with children with special needs and the person's previous psychological help-seeking status. On the basis of the spousal support scale, it was revealed that the support of the spouses of the people who did not receive psychological help before was higher.
