Abstract:

From a general look at the system of administratian in the Hittite Kingdam, we see that other from the vassal states, there were regions that were directly connected to the center of the kingdam. We have insufficient information as to what system of administration, the regions which were directly connected to the center of kingdam, had. We were able to get the same information in this regard from the same of the incidents nan-ated in the royal chronicles, which were dated back to the Old Hittite period. We were able to determine that there was anather smaller settlement as an administrative unit affiliated with the city directly connected to the center of the kingdam. We understand that the governor of the larger city directed as to how the small administrative unit was to be rwl. However, it is obvious that the king had the authority to exercise control and injluence over all these cities.
