High quality communication between coach and athlete in coaching context is important for athletes’ physical, psychological and social development. The purpose of this study was to examine coach-athlete relationship in secondary school sport teams. Purposive sampling was used to select sample of this study. Participants were 64 coaches and 145 secondary school sport athletes. “Coach-Athlete Relationship Questionnaire” which was developed by Jowett and Ntoumanis (2004) and translated to Turkish culture by Altıntaş and his colleagues (2012). One way MANOVA was used for statistical calculations. Before performing this analysis, univariate and multivariate normality, variance and covariance homogeneity, and multicollinearity assumptions were checked and all assumptions met criteria. Results showed that coach-athlete relationship level in secondary school sport teams was high for both coach and athlete sides. Gender and sport branches affected coach side of relationship. In athlete side, gender did not affect but sport branches statistically affected coach-athlete relationship. Limitations and future study directions were discussed
