Bu çalışmada, Türkiye mobilya endüstrisinin sorunlarının tespiti ile bu sorunlara çözümler önerilmiştir. Bu amaçla 45 sorudan oluşan bir anket hazırlanarak, Türkiye genelinde 33 büyük, 39 orta ve 536 küçük olmak üzere toplam 608 işletmede yüz yüze görüşme yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar sonucunda mobilya endüstrisinin en önemli sorununun eğitimli eleman yetersizliği olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bunu sırasıyla hammadde, teknoloji, ve enerji yetersizliği sorunları izlemiştir. Ayrıca, özgün tasarım eksikliği bir başka sorun olarak ortaya çıkmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, eğitimli eleman yetersizliği sorununun meslek odaları ve üniversiteler işbirliği ile çözülebileceği, küçük ve orta boy işletmelere sağlanan desteklerin basitleştirilerek yaygınlaştırılmasının gerekliliği vurgulanmıştır.
In this study, the problems of the Turkish furniture industry are determined and some solutions to these problems are suggested. The study has been conducted through questionaire with 45 questions used in face to face intervievs in 608 firms in Turkey. 33 of these firms are big size, 39 of them are medium size and 536 of them are small size. As a result, it was determined that the most important problem of the furniture industry is the inadequacy qualified labour. The insufficiency of raw material, technology and energy are also secondary problems. Besides these problems, use of duplicate designs and concepts in furniture also appears as a problem. As a result, it is emphasized that the problems about inadequcy of qualified labour can be solved by the leadership of some realated state institutions and by the cooperation between the universities and professional associations (chamber of professions) and especially the various supports provided for small-medium size firms must become widespread and simple
