Semaver, Çin, Suudi Arabistan, İran, Rusya ve Türkiye gibi birçok ülkede farklı biçimlerde karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Semaverin geçmişi işlevsel benzerliği nedeni ile Çin’de tedavi edici özelliği bulunan bitkisel ilaçların hazırlanmasında kullanılan kaplara, hatta antik Yunan ve Roma’daki su ısıtma kaplarına dayandırılmaktadır. Bilinen en eski Rus semaverinin geçmişi ise XVIII. yüzyıl yani I. Petro dönemiyle tarihlendirilmektedir. Semaver, Rus toplumunun sembolü haline gelmiş temel kültürel unsurlardan biridir ve Rus halkının yaşantısına dâhil olma süreci Çin’deki çay kültürünün Sovyet topraklarıyla buluşması sonucunda başlamıştır. Rus halk masallarında, edebi eserlerde, şarkılarda, atasözlerinde, filmlerde folklorik bir unsur olarak semaver imgesine sıkça yer verildiği görülmektedir. Semaver günümüzde çay demleme gereci olarak kullanılmasının ötesinde dekoratif ve hediyelik ürünler arasında da kendisini göstermektedir. Bu çalışmada semaverin tarihçesi, Rus kültüründe semaverin yeri, Rus semaverinin özellikleri, semaver yapımı ile bilinen Rus şehirleri, Rusya’daki semaver müzeleri vs. konulara değinilecektir.
Semaver, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia and Turkey are facing us in many different forms. The history of Semaverin is based on the containers used in the preparation of plant medicines with therapeutic properties in China due to its functional similarity, and even the water heating containers in ancient Greece and Rome. The oldest known Russian semaverium is the XVIII. It is the first century of the time of Peter I. Semaver is one of the key cultural elements that has become the symbol of the Russian society and the process of involvement in the life of the Russian people began as a result of the meeting of the tea culture in China with the Soviet territories. In Russian folk fairy tales, literary works, songs, speeches, films, it is often seen that semaver image is placed as a folklore element. Semaver today, in addition to its use as a tea cooking tool, also shows itself among decorative and gift products. This study will refer to the history of semaverin, the place of semaverin in the Russian culture, the characteristics of the Russian semaverin, the Russian cities known for the construction of semaver, the semaver museums in Russia, etc.
The samovar emerges in different forms in many countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, and Turkey. The history of the samovar is based on pots used in the preparation of herbal medicines which have the therapeutic properties in China due to their functional similarity, and even to the ancient Greek and Roman water heating vessels. History of the oldest known Russian samovar is dated with XVIII. century, so the period of Peter the Great. The samovar is one of the basic cultural elements that have become a symbol of Russian society and the process of its inclusion in the life of the Russian people began as a result of the meeting of tea culture in China with Soviet lands. It is seen frequently giving place to the image of the samovar in Russian folk tales, literary works, songs, proverbs, films as a folkloric element. Today, as well as being used as a tea brewing machine, the samovar also shows itself among the decorative products and souvenirs. In this study, the history of the samovar, the place of the samovar in Russian culture, the characteristics of Russian samovar, the Russian cities famous for its samovar product, the samovar museums in Russia, etc. issues will be examined.
