Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the anthropometric measurements and biochemical findings of patients diagnosed with insulin resistance. Individuals and Methods: Between October 2011-April 2012, between 30-50 years of age to weaken the Indoor Clinic of the Haydarpaşa sample Education and Research Hospital, a survey was carried out to 53 women who were first diagnosed with insulin resistance, with no other disease except hyperlipidemia, with personal and disease information. Considering the routine biochemical findings of patients and the biochemical findings of insulin resistance, the HOMA-IR (Homeostatis Model Assessment-Insulin Resistance) values were calculated and some anthropometric measurements were made. The findings: The study found that the patient’s body’s fat amount, fat percentage and back surround values were high. The values of hunger blood triglyceride, high-dancity lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, glucose, full glucose, hunger insulin and full insulin in normal limits, hunger low-dancity lipoprotein (LDL)-cholesterol and very low-dancity lipoprotein (VLDL) cholesterol values have been found close to the upper limit of normal, total cholesterol values are at the upper limit of normal, HOMA-IR values are above the normal limit. In patients with insulin resistance, the BMI, the amount of fat in the body, the percentage of fat, the back circle, the HOMA-IR values are high, the hunger glucose, the emptiness glucose, the hunger insulin, the emptiness insulin, the hunger blood triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, VLDL-cholesterol values are found at normal levels. The calculation of the HOMA-IR value in obese patients will allow patients with insulin resistance to be captured in the early stages.
