Abstract:

Cut Hear Epic (Kesik Baş Destanı), Pigeon Epic (Güvercin Destanı), Deer Epic (Geyik Destanı), Girl Epic (Kız Destanı), Dragon Epic (Ejderha Destanı) Epic etc. products are among the first examples of religious-mystical Turkish folk literature in Anatolia. These works which were written in the form of verse stories were said to spread Islam to the public. These works were loved and appreciated by the public. Since it is highly valued, it is included in the Mevlit books. For this reason there are many copies of these epics. The copy which is the subject of the study is registered in the Bavarian State Library at urn:nbn:de:bvb:12-bsb10250028-7. The work is mentioned in the records of Süleyman Çelebi 1351-1422 Hikaye-yi Mevlid-i Şerif in the 51-page ceremony book. Apart from the Geyik Destanı the Mevlit book consist of stories such as Nat-ı şerif, Kaside-yi Mevlud-ı şerif, Kaside-yi Tevhid-i Şerif, Vefat-ı Fatma, Destan-ı Güvercin, Destan-ı İbrahim. The work was reproduced in İstanbul in 1857 by lithography method. The Epic of Geyik starts from the 6th line of the 30th page and continues until the 13th line of the 30th page and continious until the 13th line of the 35th page. The epic consists of 99 couplets. In the article, the epic will be analyzed and transcribed in terms of language and spelling features and the index of the epic wiil be given.
