First of all, U.S. energy policy has a global dimension; increment in global supply and diversification of sources form the basis of this policy. Each of supplementary energy (natural gas and oil) sources which enter into the world energy market from different origins also augments the energy security of the United States itself. Thence, ensuring all kinds of source diversification (especially the reserves in the Central Asian region) and energy type which will meet both the U.S. and global energy demand has become the strategic goal of the United States. Today, the United States is in close cooperation with the world’s most important oil and natural gas producer countries with a view to ensure its own energy security and sustainability of the global economic system. The newly independent republics of Central Asia are among these country groups as well. This study will analyse the Central Asian energy resources and the U.S. policy towards Central Asia will be examined in the context of energy
