Türk edebiyatı tarihinde 14. asırdan çağımıza kadar pek çok kırk hadis derleme, tercüme ve şerhinin meydana getirildiği ilgililerce bilinen bir gerçektir. 16. yüzyılda kırk hadis toplama, çeviri ve açıklama çalışmaları, önceki asırlara nazaran kat kat artmış bu türde –şimdiki tesbitlerimize göre- otuz dolayında eser ortaya konmuştur. Anılan çağda Usûlî, Fuzûlî, Fevrî, Âşık Çelebi gibi kırk veya bu sayıdan bir miktar daha fazla hadis tercüme eden şairlerin bir kısmı divan sahibidir. Divanındaki çeşitli şiirlerden anlaşıldığına göre Sirâcî de 16. asır Osmanlı şairlerinden olup Hz. Peygamber’e, onun Ehl-i Beyt’i, dört dostu, torunları Hz. Hasan, Hüseyin ve on iki imama sevgiyle bağlı bir edebî şahsiyettir. Mütercim, divanının başında yer alması ve okuyanların dua etmesi isteğiyle kırkaltı hadisi ikişer beyitli nazm ve kıtalar şeklinde Türkçeye çevirmiştir. Bu çalışmada Sirâcî’nin hadis tercümeleri ele alınıp şekil ve öz yönünden incelenmiş anılan kitapçıkta Yenice Vardarlı Usûlî’nin (ö. 945/ 1538) aynı türden eserinin, nazım biçimi, Hz. Peygamber’e ait sözlerin seçilmesi ve çevrilmesi yönlerinden tesirli olduğu, bazı ipuçlarından hareketle ileri sürülmüştür. Şairin yaşadığı çağ ve kişiliği hakkında, divanındaki şiirlere dayanılarak bilgi verilmiş o asırda bu mahlası kullanan edebî şahsiyetin kimliği, tarihî biyografik kaynaklardan faydalanılarak tesbit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Nihayet Sirâcî’nin hadis tercümeleri, Latin harflerine ve günümüz Türkçesine çevrilerek okuyucuların incelemesine arz edilmiştir.
