Abstract:

Amaç: Bu araştırma, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu yöneticilerinin çatışma yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma düzeylerinin yönetici ve akademisyenlerin algılarına göre belirlemek, yöneticilerin kullandıkları çatışma yönetimi stratejilerinin yöneticilerin ve akademisyenlerin algılarına göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını tespit etmek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Yöntem: Araştırmanın evrenini, 2007–2008 eğitim-öğretim yılında Türkiye’deki devlet üniversitelerine bağlı 38 Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokullu ve 2 Spor Bilimleri ve Teknolojisi Yüksekokulu’nda görev yapan, 89 yönetici ve 521 akademisyen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, M. Afzalur Rahim (1983) tarafından geliştirilen “Çatışma Yönetimi Stratejileri Ölçeği” (The Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II) ve kişisel özellikleri belirlemek için araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Anketlere verilen cevapların aritmetik ortalamaları ve standart sapmaları hesaplanmış, yönetici ve akademisyenlerin algılarına göre, okul yöneticilerinin çatışma yönetimi stratejilerinin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığının incelenmesinde ikili küme karşılaştırmalarda Mann-Whitney U testi istatistik yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada anlamlılık düzeyi 0.05 olarak kabul edilmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda, yöneticilerin algılarına göre kullandıkları çatışma yönetimi stratejileri sırasıyla; tümleştirme, uzlaşma, ödün verme, kaçınma ve hükmetmedir. Akademisyenlerin algılarına göre ise okul yöneticilerinin kullandıkları çatışma yönetimi stratejileri tümleştirme, hükmetme, uzlaşma, kaçınma ve ödün vermedir. Okul yöneticilerinin çatışma yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma dereceleri yönetici ve akademisyenlerin algılarına göre kaçınma, stratejisinde anlamlı farklılık göstermezken, tümleştirme, ödün verme, hükmetme ve uzlaşma stratejilerinde anlamlı farklılık göstermiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Yüksekokulu, Çatışma Yönetimi Stratejileri, Çatışma Yönetimi

Aim: This research was done to determine the using level of conflict management strategies of physical education and sports school managers according to managers’ and academicians’ perception and managers’ have had leadership styles whether differentiation or not managers’ andacademicians’ perception. Method: Population was consisted of 89 academy managers and 521 academicians who work in 38 Physical Education and Sports School and 2 Sports Sciences and Technology School that are connected to state universities in Turkey, between 2007-2008 educationalterm.In order to collect data, The Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory-II was developed by M.Afzalur Rahim (1983) and “Personal Information Form” was developed by the researcher in orderto determine personal characteristics. U test was used to compare dual groups which were examined whether they are differentioned or not according to their personal characteristics’ influence onusing level of conflict management strategies of school managers. In addition, means and standarddeviations of the data were computed. Significance level was accepted as 0.05. Results: Research results; Conflict management strategies of the managers according to their perception can be orderedas follows: compromising, making concession, avoiding, dominating. However, conflict management strategies of the academicians according to their perception can be ordered as follows; integrating, dominating, compromising, avoiding and making concession. There is no significantdifference in avoiding strategy according to the using level of conflict management strategies ofschool managers and academicians. But there is a significant difference in integrating, making concession, dominating and compromising strategies
