The Women's Gazette, first number published by Iffet Halim Oruz in Istanbul on 1 March 1947. The characteristic that distinguishes the newspaper from the other publications in the period is the composition of women and their writers. Unlike women’s magazines, they are concerned with domestic issues. Does the newspaper, which is a social, political and cultural guide for women, know a lot of travelers? Too much living? It has taken the principle of taking advantage of a country’s various wealths, natural and cultural values through travel. Women's Gazette writers, who suggest that tourism creates a wide source of income within and outside the country, have struck on the characteristics of both economic and cultural manasters of tourism. The aim of this study is to show the conditions of the cities travelling abroad and abroad from the perspective of women. There are a number of works on the women’s newspaper. One of them is the master's thesis entitled "The Place of the Women's Gazette in Turkish Press" prepared by Sezen Çoğun and "A Contemporary Step for Turkish Women: Women's Gazette (1947-1951)" prepared by Birsen Ünal. While these studies evaluate the Women's Gazette with its general lines, they stood on the modernization of women in Turkey. In this article, it is considered to be a more specific topic only from the point of view of tourism. In the last 10 years of the Democratic Party period, all the newspapers have been scaned.

The first issue of Women Newspaper by Iffet Halim Oruz was published on March 1, 1947 in Istanbul. What distinguishes the newspaper from other publications in its period is the fact that its writers consist of women. Unlike the usual fancy women’s magazines, she has dealt with country problems. Using the principle of “who does know better? does the man who travels much? or does the man who reads a lot ?” The newspaper has adopted the principle of making use of various riches, natural and cultural values of a country through travel. The Women Newspaper authors who claim that tourism constitutes a large source of income both inside and outside the country, have emphasized the characteristics of tourism in both economic and cultural terms. The aim of this study is to expose the conditions of the cities seen in Turkey and abroad from the perspective of women. “The Place of the Women’s Newspaper in the Turkish Press” prepared by Sezen Çoğun and “A Contemporary Step for Turkish Femininity: Woman Newspaper (1947-1951)” prepared by Birsen Ünal, Çağdaş are the Master thesis about the Women's Newspaper. These studies assessing the Women’s Newspaper, the general line, they stood on the modernization of women in Turkey. In this article, it is evaluated as a more specific issue only in terms of tourism. In addition, all issues of the newspaper were scanned thoroughly within the 10 years of the Democrat Party Period.
