Mevlüt Özhan, Sürç-i Lisan Ettikse Affola Karagöz Üzerine Yazılar ile alanda uzun süredir üzerine konuşulmayan bir konuya eğiliyor ve Karagöz sanatının dünü ve bugünü hakkında bilgiler sunarken sanatın geleceğine de ışık tutuyor. Tarih Vakfı Yurt Yayınları tarafından Ekim 2020’da yayımlanan eser 232 sayfadır. Kitap önsöz, on beş makale, kaynakça ve fotoğraflar bölümlerinden oluşmaktadır. Kitap yazarın ulusal ve uluslararası kongre ve sempozyumlarda sunduğu bildiriler, yazdığı inceleme yazıları, Karagöz’ün doğuşundan, günümüze gelişine kadarki süreç içerisinde tekniği, oyun biçimi, olaylara bakışı, oyun tiplerinde ve kişilerdeki değişimi, yaşatılması konusundaki çabalar ve bu çabaların yeterliliği, yaşatılıp yaşatılamayacağı konusundaki görüşlerini içermektedir. Kitapta bulunan makalelerin ana konusunu Karagöz özelinde Geleneksel Türk Tiyatrosu oluşturmaktadır.

The work published by the History Foundation Country Publications in October 2020 is 232 pages. The book consists of a preface, fifteen articles, sources and photographs sections. The writer’s statements at national and international congresses and symposiums, his review writings, from Karagöz’s birth to the present day, include his views on the technique, the game form, the view of events, the changes in the types of games and in the persons, the efforts on living and the adequacy of these efforts, whether they can be lived or not. The main topic of the articles in the book is the traditional Turkish Theatre in Karagöz.
