The world’s mobility is increasing every day depending on the population. With the increase in population, there are a number of problems. One of the most important is transportation. Local governments and the General Directorate of Roadways (KGM) are constantly carrying out road construction and maintenance work to solve this problem. The responsibility of these institutions is to carry out these activities in the most economic framework. Therefore, the road construction stages must also meet the economic requirement after geometric standards are provided. In this study, the economic impact on the cost of the curves, which are from the horizontal and downstream elements of the road, was studied. In the example of Erzurum, a road section has been considered and in this section the relationship with the cost has been reviewed and the appropriate option has been determined by creating different horizontal and low curve combinations.

One of the most important of these is the transportation problem. The local authorities and the General Directorate of Highways (GDH) conduct continuous road construction and maintenance to solve this problem. It is the responsibility of these institutions to carry out these works in the most economic framework. Therefore, after the providing of the geometric standards, the highway construction stages must fulfill the requirement of economy. In this study, the effects of curves, which are horizontal and vertical elements of highway on cost, were examined. In the case of Erzurum province, a road section was taken into consideration and different horizontal and vertical curve combinations were formed and the relations with cost were reviewed and the appropriate option was determined.
