Quickly and accurately tracking of Maximum power point (MPP) in photovoltaic (PV) power systems has great significance. Therefore, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method has been developed. In the developed method, fast transient response feature of beta method and low power fluctuations feature in the steady-state of the three-point method were combined. Simulations of this method and perturb and observed method in Matlab / Simulink were carried out. Simulations, using 52W PV panel, were used by feeding of 52W load at 25°C temperature and 1000W/m2 radiation intensity. When results obtained from the used simulations were compared, MPP of the proposed method was more quickly achieved and observed performing the maximum power point tracking with less power fluctuation at MPP.
