Abstract:

Nursing theories provide guidance for evaluating education, research and professional nursing practices, and nursing care. They strengthen the autonomy of nursing by identifying its own individual functions. These theories make up the basis for nursing education. The aim of this paper is to provide the nurses in our country with an understanding of nursing theorists. The use of nursing models will ensure a better understanding of nursing. This article aims to schematize patient care in a chronic disease based on the main points of nursing theorists’ theories and view the nursing interventions holistically. In addition, thalassemia, a chronic disease, is handled in accordance with theorists, which is intended to be guiding for nursing interventions. In the study, the theories of all theorists have been taken into consideration in the care of a baby with thalassemia.
