On 21 February 1925, the budget of the President of the Divine Affairs in TBMM, the Qur'an-i Kerîm translation and interpretation and the translation of the Sahîh-i Buhâri and the charity of the 20,000 lira were assigned. On October 26, 1925, the President of the Dianet Affairs signed a contract with the Elmalılı Muhammad Hamdi Yazır for the translation of the Qur’an-i Kerîm, Muhammad Akif for the translation of the Qur’an. After the dissolution of the treaty of Mehmet Akif due to the "Turkish Qur'an, Turkish Ibad" project implemented by the government in the first months of 1932, the translation of the Qur'an-i Kerîm was also given to Elmalılı with a treaty made on 23 May 1932. On 21 February 1925, the Turkish Grand Assembly allocated fund worth 20.000 TL to the budget of the presidency of religious affairs for the translation and interpretation of holy Quran and translation and annotation of Sahîhi Buhâri. The presidency signed a contract with Mehmet Akif for translation of the Quran and with Elmalılı Muhammed Hamdi Yazır for interpretation of Quran on 26 October 1925. After Mehmet Akif terminated the contract unilaterally due to the policies of ‘Turkish Quran’ and ‘Turkish praying’ which was promulgated in the first months of 1932, the government signed another contract with Yazır for the translation of holy Quran, on 23 May 1932. On the contrary to the terms and conditions of the contract, the president of the religious affairs Rıfat Börekçi demanded urgently the copies of the translation of Quran to be published independently from the interpretation. Elmalılı refused this demand categorically by stating ‘if this is going to be published it must be within interpretation. Otherwise the contract is terminated. Despite the refusal, the presidency continued to put pressure on Yazır and without his consent, the interpretation and translation of the Quran was started to be published partially in 1935. The completed version of the project ‘Hak Dini Kur’ân Dili’ could have only been published in 1938. Elmalılı could not or did not produce his work in the way he wished due to the political pressure created by the policies of ‘Turkish praying’, 'Turkish Quran’, ‘Islam as Turk’s national religion.’ Because of his grave concern He completed writing the last translation of Quran secretly. Our work focuses on the last translation of Quran written by Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır.
