Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin lise giriş sınavına (LGS) hazırlık sürecine ilişkin ebeveyn görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Bu kapsamda, ebeveynlerin sınav içeriği, sınavın uygulanış şekli, sınav ile ilgili herhangi bir problemin olup olmadığı, sınava hazırlanma sürecinde ebeveyn ve öğrenci arasındaki ilişkinin ne olduğu, öğrencide bu dönemde gözlenen davranışlarında bir değişim olup olmadığını ortaya çıkarmak için nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomenolojik desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında 20 ortaokul öğrencisi ebeveyni ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırma verileri araştırmacı tarafından oluşturulan 28 soruluk bir görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ebeveynler lise giriş sınavının uygun olmadığını, stres, korku, heyecan gibi duygulara yol açtığını belirtmiş ve sınavı yetersiz bulmuşlardır. Çoğu ebeveyn sınav yapılmasının gerektiğini düşünmekle beraber sınavın süresi ve uygulanışı konusunda değişiklik yapılması gerektiği görüşündedir. Bazı ebeveynler ise sınav yapılmaması gerektiğini düşünmektedir. Ebeveynler lise giriş sınavına hazırlık sürecinin çocukların ruh haline değişimlere yol açtığını, sosyalleşmelerine engel olduğu belirtmiştir. Bu sürece pandeminin de dahil olmasının çocukları ve ebeveynleri oldukça olumsuz etkilediği, stres ve kaygılarını artırdığı görülmüştür. Pandeminin liseye hazırlık sürecinde öğrenci motivasyonunu azalttığı ve çocukların okula gidememesinin sosyal etkileşime engel olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca ebeveynler uzaktan eğitimin yetersiz olduğu yönünde görüş belirtmişlerdir.
The purpose of this research is to study the parents' opinions about the process of preparation for the high school entrance exam (LGS) of high school students. In this context, a phenomenological pattern of qualitative research methods has been used to figure out the parent’s exam content, the way the exam is implemented, whether there is any problem with the exam, what is the relationship between the parent and the student in the exam preparation process, whether there is a change in the behavior observed in the student during this period. In the course of the study, 20 high school students were interviewed with their parents. The research data was collected with a interview form for 28 questions created by the researcher. As a result, parents pointed out that the high school entry exam was not suitable, that it caused emotions such as stress, fear, excitement, and found the exam insufficient. The majority of parents think that the exam should be done and that the time and application of the exam should be changed. Some parents believe that the exam should not be done. Parents pointed out that the process of preparation for the high school entrance exam causes children to change their mood, prevent them from socializing. In this process, the inclusion of the pandemic has been shown to have a significant negative impact on their children and parents, increasing their stress and anxiety. The conclusion was that the pandemic in the process of high school preparation reduced the motivation of students and that children could not go to school prevent social interaction. Parents also pointed out that distant education is insufficient.
