Abstract:

When it comes to its development within the historical process, it can be said that the transcription method has shown a great development in the romantic period. The works that have become popular have been arranged for different playings according to the characteristics of the playing technique. Transcriptions can be said that the works composed for a play are not limited to that play and are also spoken in other play, allowing the hearing and recognition of the wider public. The piano works of Frédéric Chopin, one of the most important composers of the period, have also been adapted to other play by many composers, bringing the classical characteristics of various plays to the forefront. The purpose of this research was to study the transcriptions of Chopin's Nocturne works for piano in the romantic period and the research of the composers and performers who made these transcriptions. For this purpose, the research team is Adolf Grünwald, Károly Huber, Friedrich Hermann, Camille Saint Saëns, Adolf Gustaw Sonnenfeld, Fabian Rehfeld, Pablo de Sarasate, Richard Hofmann, August Wilhelmj, Emil Kross, Leopold Auer and Bronisław Huberman; the work works are transcriptions of Chopin's Nocturne works. This study, which is a quality study, has used imagistic research techniques. The research data was obtained through document examination and the data was studied through the visual analysis method.
