Özet:

Abstract This research endeavor aims to compile the points of contention mentioned by Al-Hāfiz Ibn Hajar in Fath Al-Barī concerning the Asanid (Chaines) of Sahīh Al-Bukharī and his respective answers to them. The research analysis of this study begins with the chapter titled The beginning of the Revelation until the end of the chapter entitled chapters of Prayers’ Sutrah. The answers presented by Ibn Hajar are analyzed and compared to the answers of the scholars who authored commentaries on Sahīh Al-Bukharī from those scholars who preceded him or were his contemporaries. The problem addressed in this research lies in the fact that many scholars, while acknowledging the authenticity of Sahīh Al-Bukharī, its high status, the excellence and superiority of its author, did not agree with him in all the subsidiary issues mentioned therein. In fact, there were some scholars who disputed him in certain issues, objected to them, and attributed what they perceived as being in err as a mistake on the part of Al Bukharī or miss assumption, while other scholars ventured to defend Al Bukharī in these issues and respond to these objections. Consequently, this research aims to study these objections and analyze them in order clarify what exactly these objections are, and to explain the scholars' approach in responding to them. The importance of the research is that it exemplifies an aspect of the methodology of hadith scholars in criticizing Asanid and discusses the criticisms of them and their respective counter responses. Likewise, it brings into view their methodology in doing so. The research method employed by the researcher in this study is the inductive approach used whilst collecting these objections; the analytical descriptive method in explaining them and clarifying the answers of Ibn Hajar regarding them, and lastly the comparative approach with regards to assessing the answers of Ibn Hajar in light of the answers provided by other commentators. The most important results of the research are summarized in that the number of objections to the Asanid of Sahīh Al-Bukharī which Ibn Hajar mentioned in Fath Al-Barī from the Chapter of “The Beginning of the Revelation” to the end of the chapter of “Prayer Times” amounted to nine objections. These objections are divided into four categories which are: Tadlis in isnad. The second category is the Idtirab in Isnad. Thirdly, the Increase and decrease in Isnad. The last category being the eror in Isnad. These objections do not affect the validity of the texts of hadiths, and Ibn Hajar took a varied approach with regards to the evidences he used in responding to these objections, In doing so, he combined the application of the rules of hadith sciences, collecting the nationss of hadith, clarifying the conditions of narrators, and balancing between narrators in Jarh and Tadeel.
