Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the impact of the digital dependency of teachers candidates on academic success. In the collection of data, the researchers have taken advantage of the Digital Addiction Scale, which consists of 40 materials developed and used by the Demographic Information Form and Dilci (2019) prepared by the researchers. The study examines how the digital addictions of teachers candidates and the factors affecting this addiction affect academic success, the factors and the relationships between the Digital Addiction Scale. The research has collected data from a total of 216 teachers candidates in the Psychological Consultancy and Guidance Department, Turkish Teaching, Primary Mathematics Teaching, Pre-School Teaching, which studied at the Sivas Republic University School of Education in the 2019-2020 academic year. For the purposes of the research, the path analysis (Path Analysis) from the Structural Equality Model (YEM) was used to find the relationship between the relative scan design and the scale factors and the academic success. The data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS (25.0) package program and the AMOS 25 program. In the study, a diagram was created by modeling how digital dependency affects the low self-perception, impulsivity, absence, low performance, social isolation and score average factors with the structural equality modeling (YEM) and looked at the direction of the relationship between them. When the obtained data were evaluated, other factors (low self-perception, impulsivity, absence, low performance, social isolation) other than the score average factor were positive; but the score average factor was a negative relationship.
