Günümüzde insanların doğal kaynakları tüketim hızları ve çevreye karşı duyarlılıkları ile ilgili konu ve sorunlar önem kazandığı için çevresel sorunları ölçülebilir büyüklükler ile ifade etmek gerekmektedir. Ekolojik ayak izi, insanların yeryüzündeki doğal kaynakları ne kadar sürdürülebilir nitelikte kullandığının bir göstergesidir. Çevrenin sürdürülebilirlik çerçevesinde ne kadar verimli kullanıldığına yönelik farkındalık yaratmak için ekolojik ayak izinin önemine dikkat çekilmesinin gerektiği düşünülmektedir. Bu araştırma, Türkiye’de 2010-2020 yılları arasında ekolojik ayak izi ile ilgili yapılmış lisansüstü tezleri çeşitli kriterler açısından incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri doküman incelemesi yapılarak elde edilmiştir. Araştırma konusu ile ilgili Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanında kayıtlı olan lisansüstü tezler incelenerek, toplam 57 lisansüstü tez çalışmasına ulaşılmıştır. Ulusal Tez Merkezi resmî sitesinde yer alan çalışmaların 52’si yüksek lisans ve 5’i doktora tez çalışmasından oluşmaktadır. Veri kaynakları betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılarak irdelenmiştir. Araştırmada erişime açık olan lisansüstü tezleri yayın yılı, konu alan türü, eğitim ve öğretim konu alanındaki disiplin türü, araştırma kökeni, araştırma deseni, veri toplama araçları ve veri analiz tekniğine göre incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, 2010-2020 yılları arasında ekolojik ayak izi konusunda en fazla ekonomi, mimarlık, vb. gibi farklı disiplin alanlarında ve yüksek lisans türünde tezlerin yapıldığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca incelenen lisansüstü tezlerinin büyük çoğunluğunun nicel kökenli yapılandırıldığı, araştırma deseni olarak da en fazla betimsel tarama ve doküman incelemesinin tercih edildiği belirlenmiştir. Verilerin toplanması daha çok ölçek ve dokümanlar aracılığıyla, analizleri ise normallik testi ve t- testi ile yapıldığı saptanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre ekolojik ayak iziyle ilgili yapılan çalışmalara son yıllarda daha fazla önem verildiği belirlenmiştir.
Nowadays, since issues and problems related to the speed of consumption of natural resources by people and their sensitivity to the environment have become important, it is necessary to express environmental problems with measurable quantities. The ecological footprint is an indicator of how sustainable people use natural resources on earth. It is thought that attention should be paid to the importance of ecological footprint in order to raise awareness about how efficiently the environment is used within the framework of sustainability. This research was carried out in order to examine the postgraduate theses on the ecological footprint in Turkey between 2010 and 2020 in terms of various criteria. The research data were obtained by conducting a document review. A total of 57 postgraduate theses were reached by examining the postgraduate theses registered in the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education regarding the research subject. It consists of 52 master's and 5 doctoral theses from the studies on the official website of the National Dissertation Center. The data sources were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique. The graduate theses that are open to access in the research are examined according to the year of publication, type of subject area, type of discipline in the field of education and training, research origin, research method, data collection tools and data analysis technique. According to the findings obtained, the greatest number of studies on the ecological footprint in 2010-2020 were conducted in economics, architecture, etc. It has been determined that theses have been made in different disciplinary fields and in the type of master's degree, such as. In addition, it has been determined that the vast majority of the graduate theses examined are structured quantitatively, and the most descriptive screening and document review are preferred as the research method. It was determined that the data were collected mostly through scales and documents, and the analyses were performed by normality test and t-test. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that more attention has been paid to the studies conducted on the ecological footprint in recent years.
