People who live in Turkey have suffered a series of terrorist attacks between 2015 and 2016, which began with the Suruç explosion in July 2015 and ended with the Reina explosion in December 31, 2016. This study examined the levels of people who learn about terror attacks through the media (visual/written and/or social media) feel safe, the levels of impact from events, and the sources of dealing with the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (TSSB). Participants’ security feelings and levels of influence from different events were measured by 2 different Likert-type questions. The TSSB symptoms were evaluated by the Trauma Post-Stress Disorder Control List for DSM-5 and the ways to cope with the Resource Conservation Scale (Conservation of Resources Scale). The findings show that the effects of events on participants are quite high and they don’t feel safe. However, only 9.2% of the sampling showed symptoms at a level that meets the TSSB diagnosis criteria specified in DSM-V. The findings show that the socio-economic level is a meaningful indicator in the three models. Nevertheless, the use of the relationship as a source processes both the level of influence from events and how safe the participants feel. Finally, while gender appears to be meaningful in raising the level of influence from events, it has been found that worship makes it difficult to feel safe. The findings are discussed in the light of literature.
