Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to examine the thematic content analysis and trends of all published postgraduate theses on the professional identity of teachers. For this purpose, Council of Higher Education National Thesis Screening Center was used. As a result of the scanning, 60 postgraduate theses were examined to answer the research problems determined by the researchers. From theses, The form aid data were collected including the titles of publication language, thesis level, publication year of the thesis, research method-pattern, sampling type, sample size, branch of the teachers involved in the sample, data analysis type, subject area, keywords and data collection tools used in the thesis. According to the results of the research, it was determined that the qualitative method and case pattern were mostly used in the theses, mostly English teachers were studied, and the data were mostly obtained by interview technique. However, it has been determined that the theses are mostly focused on the master's level and the teachers' identity perceptions and identity development as a subject. As a result of the research, suggestions were made to examine the studies on the professional identities of teachers with different methods.
