Abstract:

In this research, first of all, it was tried to investigate the correlation between entrepreneurial intentions, unemployment concerns, and hopelessness levels of undergraduate students, additionally, to find out the differences in these levels according to some selected demographic characteristics. It is a descriptive survey research focusing on collecting data from undergraduate students. The data were collected by convenient sampling method from 241 final-year students at Manisa Celal Bayar University. Vocational School of Health Services through a questionnaire. The questionnaire comprises two parts. The first part includes scales for measuring entrepreneurial intention, unemployment anxiety, and hopelessness. The second part contains demographic characteristics of the students. The data were analyzed through SPSS software program; using descriptive statistics, difference analyses, and correlation analyses. The correlation analyses revealed significant negative relationships between entrepreneurship intention and both unemployment anxiety and hopelessness. Additionally, a positive relationship was found between unemployment anxiety and hopelessness. It was also found that entrepreneurship intention, job anxiety, and hopelessness scores of students differed according to some demographic characteristics including age, presence of a family member engaged in trade, mother's and father's education status, completion of entrepreneurship course training, and work experience.
