ÖZ: Toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri ile demokratik değer algıları ortak paydada buluşan ve bireyin gelecekte nasıl bir yaşam süreceğine yönelik ipuçları sunan konulardır. Dolayısıyla öğretmen adaylarının benimsedikleri demokratik değerler ile toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yönelik bakış açılarının belirlenmesi önemli görülmektedir. Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, okulöncesi ve sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının demokratik değer algıları ile toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yönelik tutumları arasındaki ilişkilerin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada genel tarama modellerinden olan ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 349 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak Selvi (2006) tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretmen Adayları Demokratik Değerleri Ölçeği” ile Zeyneloğlu (2008) tarafından geliştirilen “Öğretmen Adayları Toplumsal Cinsiyet Rollerine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma gibi betimsel istatistikler ile t-testi, pearson korelasyon katsayısı ve çoklu regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değer algılarının yüksek düzeyde olduğu; toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine ilişkin ise eşitlikçi tutumlara sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değer algılarının cinsiyete göre farklılaşmadığı, toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yönelik tutumlarının ise farklılaştığı bulunmuştur. Yine, öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değer algıları ile toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yönelik tutumları arasında orta düzeyde, pozitif yönlü, anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Son olarak araştırmada öğretmen adaylarının demokratik değer algılarının cinsiyetle birlikte, toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine yönelik tutumlarının %36,6’sını yordadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Social gender roles and democratic values are topics that meet in common and provide clues to how the individual will live in the future. Therefore, it is important that the teachers candidates determine the democratic values they adopt and the perspectives of social gender roles. The general purpose of this study is to identify the relationships between pre-school and class teacher candidates’ democratic values perceptions and their attitudes towards social gender roles. Relative scanning models from general scanning models have been used in the study. The study group consisted of 349 teachers candidates. The data collection tool was developed by Selvi (2006) and developed by Zeyneloğlu (2008) with the "Teacher Candidate's Attitude Measure on Social Gender Roles" used. In the analysis of the data, the arithmetic average and standard deviation have been used with visual statistics such as t-test, pearson correlation ratio and multiple regression analysis. The research finds that teachers’ candidates have a high level of democratic perception of values, and that they have equal attitudes in relation to social roles of gender. The teachers’ candidates have found that their perceptions of democratic values do not differ by gender, but their attitudes towards social gender roles differ. Again, it has been found that there is a medium, positive, meaningful relationship between the perceptions of democratic values and their attitudes towards social gender roles. Finally, the study found that the democratic values of teachers candidates, along with gender, represent 36.6% of their attitudes towards social gender roles.
