Laicism and Islam are two main factors which mainly left their marks on the new socio-politics life that commenced with the modern Republic in Turkey. This new cooperation which was formatted by the Republic accommodated while experiencing an inevitable necessity on the one hand and dilemmas such as clinching each other and even nutrating each other on the other hand. This paradoxical unity describes the existence in concert of two robust social poles compelling each other which resembles the unity of mind and material (philosophical) or good and bad-like (theological). Thus this poses a dualist situation. In this context, the goal of this study at first is to try to put forward that this cooperation of dependency and mutual-interest of laicism and Islam lasting from early Republican era to current times was in fact stemmed from new understanding of nationalism regarding that period. In order to realize this, dualist treaty via nationalism which was made between laicism that was branded in the social backbone by the Republican reforms and Islam that had been formal religion of the state for nearly 1200 years in the Turkish socio-political history as well as sometimes paradoxical and sometimes rational-tactical relations and impacts of this agreement will be analyzed
