Abstract:

With the developments recorded in information technology, new concepts have emerged. One of these concepts is the literacy of knowledge. The study aimed at determining the level of knowledge literature of the Turkish teachers candidates at the University of Kilis 7 December Muallim Rıfat Education Faculty. In this regard, 111 students were taught the scope of the information reading. The data obtained in the study adopted by the screening model were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 statistical package program. Participants have been attempted to identify the levels of knowledge need, access to information, recognition of information sources, understanding-modification-building information. At the end of the analysis, it was revealed that most of the teachers candidates had the mentioned skills. Participants are aware of all the prerequisites necessary to realize the need for information and to use written/digital resources; they are determined to take care of the legal regulations, the freedom of thought and expression, and the principles of privacy/security at the point of providing information. A significant majority of the teaching candidates who participate in the study have come to the conclusion that it is sufficient in the processes of determining the basic thoughts in the sources, systematically organizing the information, distinguishing the contradictory information, establishing the cause-result link between the relevant concepts and structuring the information.
