Abstract:

It is one of the most important issues for the sociology of religion to understand and make sense of the sects, which still maintain their serious importance in a changing and developing 21st century society and which do not have a negative change in member potential. In countries where it has a significant importance in the social structure sect embodiments such as Turkey would be beneficial in terms of the sociology of religion address these in mind it was decided to conduct this study. It was decided that such structures should be examined, which maintains its importance and popularity almost at certain levels and can appeal to many segments of the society. The study consists of four parts. First of all, the subject and the importance of the research are mentioned in the introduction. The hypotheses, methods and techniques of the research are included, and then the concepts that are thought to be related are included in the basic concepts section. In the first part, the development of the history of Sufism, in the second part the general structure of the orders and sects, in the third part the general structure and characteristics of the Naqshbandi order, in the fourth part the findings of the surveys and interviews conducted within the scope of the subject are given. In this context, 25 Range sect members were interviewed and in-depth interviews were conducted with five of them.
