Bu çalışmada Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin değerler eğitiminde karşılaştıkları sorunların tespit edilmesi ve çözüm önerilerinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma 2019-2020 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Mersin ilinin merkez ilçelerinde görev yapan 21 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Yöntem olarak nitel araştırma modeli kullanılmış, çalışma nitel araştırmanın olgu bilim türüne göre desenlemiştir. Amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma neticesinde sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri, karşılaştıkları sorunların temelinde medyanın ve çevrenin olumsuz etkilerini, sınav kaygısını, aile sorumsuzluğunu ve ders saatlerinin yetersiz olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Bu sorunların çözümünde aile eğitimi, medya konusunda bilinçlenme, değerlerin içselleştirilmesi ve müstakil bir değerler dersinin gerekliliği gibi çözüm önerileri sunmuşlardır
In this study, it is aimed to determine the problems faced by social studies teachers in values education and to propose solutions. The study consists of 21 teachers working in the central districts of Mersin in the 2019-2020 academic year. The qualitative research model was used as a method and the study was designed according to the phenomenon type of qualitative research. An easily accessible case sample, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used in this study. As a result, social studies teachers stated that the negative effects of media and environment, exam anxiety, family irresponsibility and class hours were insufficient on the basis of the problems they faced during the process of values education. In order to solve these problems, they offered solutions such as family education, awareness about media, internalization of values and the necessity of a separate values course
