Üretim ve tüketim biçimlerinde yeni bir çağ açan teknolojik gelişmelerin bireylerin yaşam biçimlerine yansımaları her geçen gün artmaktadır. Bu teknolojik dönüşüm, turizm sektöründe de artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik uygulamaları ile kendini göstermekte, her geçen gün dünyada dikkat çekici örnekleri ile yayılmaktadır. Bu düşünceden hareketle, çalışmada, turizm sektöründe ilk örnekleri görülmeye başlanan artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik uygulamalarına yönelik Türkiye’de gerçekleştirilen çalışmaların sistematik bir yöntemle incelenmesi, eksikliklerin tespit edilmesi ve gelecekteki çalışmaların hangi alanlarda, hangi yöntemlerle gerçekleştirilebileceğine yönelik model önerileri sunulması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak, çalışma kapsamına artırılmış gerçeklik ve sanal gerçeklik uygulamalarını konu edinen 32 makale dahil edilmiştir. Bulgular, literatürdeki çalışmaların ağırlıklı olarak turizm pazarlaması ve müzecilik alanlarına yoğunlaştığına, daha çok nitel yöntemlerden yararlanıldığına ve büyük kısmının kavramsal çalışmalardan oluştuğuna işaret etmektedir. Dahası, Türkiye’de teoriye ve ampirik verilere dayalı çalışmalarının eksikliği en çarpıcı sonuç olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu bulgular ışığında gelecekteki çalışmalara yönelik model önerileri sunulmuştur.
Rapid develeopment of the technology opened a new era in the forms of production and consumption. The reflections of these developments on the lifestyles of individuals are increasing day by day. This technological transformation also manifests itself in the tourism sector with augmented reality and virtual reality applications, and it is spreading with remarkable examples in the world day by day. Therefore, this study aims to examine the national tourism literature on augmented reality and virtual reality applications, identify the gaps and, provide suggestions for future studies through a systematic method. To this end, 32 articles on augmented reality and virtual reality applications were included in the scope of the study. Findings indicate that the studies in the literature mainly focus on tourism marketing and museology, mostly utilise qualitative methods, and most of them consist of conceptual studies. Moreover, the lack of studies based on theory and empirical data in the national literature emerged as the most striking result. In the light of these findings, model suggestions for future studies are presented.
